Navigate clinics, hospitals, and systems with calm, clear advocacy—without losing your person in the process. Educational workshop; not legal advice.
You’ll learn:
- Appointment prep that keeps visits focused (agenda, med list, top 3 questions)
- Informed consent/refusal—what to ask, how to document, when to pause care
- Access & accommodations—requesting interpreters, CART, sensory/mobility supports
- Escalation path—nurse → charge nurse → attending → patient advocate/relations → ethics
- After-visit & discharge—teach-back, red flags, safe-discharge planning
- Protective documentation—names, timestamps, portal messages, what to save
- ER basics & emergencies—triage scripts, “stabilize,” when to call 911
- Insurance navigation—prior auth, denials, simple appeals that move care forward
You’ll leave with:
- Appointment-prep worksheet + question bank
