To protect participants and uphold our values, all facilitators (lead or co-facilitators) must complete our training path:
Baseline training (within 12 months before leading):
- Community Care Certification (any 10-seat cohort)
- At least 3 Skill-Up Workshops (your choice)
Practice & readiness:
- Shadow at least 1 session (or 2 hrs of a cohort)
- Co-teach at least 2 hours with a senior facilitator
- Sign the Care Agreement and complete a brief safety/anti-harassment orientation
- Provide one reference (community leader, alum, or past collaborator)
Ongoing learning:
- 1 additional Skill-Up per year to stay current
- Participate in peer feedback at least once per year
Compensation & incentives:
- Facilitators are paid (stipend per session/cohort)
- 5% enrollment bonus (capped at $300) for the designated Lead Facilitator, funded only from tuition (not from grants)
Pathway to Facilitate (steps):
- Apply to Facilitate (short form + reference)
- Complete training (Certification + 3 Skill-Ups or approved equivalency)
- Shadow & co-teach (observe → co-lead)
- Lead a session with support
- Annual tune-up (1 Skill-Up + peer feedback)
